Opened in 2010 The Way of The Roses is proving to be a hit with cyclists of all types as more and more people discover the beautiful countryside, the panoramic views and the friendly charm of towns and villages along the way. A popular alternative to the original C2C further north this new Sustrans route could soon prove to be the best way to get from sea to sea.
How better to enjoy the Way of The Roses than on a fully supported cycling tour starting and ending in York where all you have to do is ride your bike and watch the scenery roll by? No worries about getting you and your bike to the start, or how you're going to get back from Bridlington to where you left your car! Leave the logistics to us.
Cycle Yorkshire will take care of everything, including a free transfer from our base in York to Morecambe, and then back to York at the end of the ride. Together with top quality B&B accommodation each night, baggage transfers and a fully qualified CTC approved guide at your service, we know you'll enjoy this classic ride.
Enjoy a night in Morecambe before a morning start sees you cycling through an ever changing landscape along the Lune Valley, through the Forest of Bowland, hopping from village to village in the Yorkshire Dales, into the cities of Ripon and York and then across the rolling Yorkshire Wolds.
The route consists of traffic-free paths, on-road cycle lanes, country lanes and quieter roads, all part of the National Cycle Network. We can recommend the best places for tea and cakes and where to find a lunch stop suitable for cyclists' appetites. After a final short day to Bridlington there's time to enjoy a well earned ice cream on the Prom before we head back to York for your journey home.
You can bring your own bike or we can supply a top quality hybrid tourer at a very reasonable rate, and we can also arrange direct rail travel from London with our partners Grand Central.
